I'd rather be out on a bench somewhere snuggled up with this dude named Chris keeping warm on this chilly night. I'd rather be doing that then sitting at this freakin computer being eaten as dinner by these freakin bugs!

I would rather that my wonderful dog would have just a few more healthy years left in her, rather than her being elderly and struggling with her health. I would rather that I have a few more weeks to love her and be near her before she dies. And I would rather she would die peacefully in her sleep rather than my having to make the painful decision about euthanizing her.
