Alistair Cooke
Vincent Price
Diana Riggs?

I liked them all but I really missed Vincent when he died. Remember the sound of crickets on the set during his talk?

Alistair Cooke. I had listened to his "Letter From America" series for many years on the BBC World Service shortwave. I also recall his hosting the "Omnibus" series on NBC in the early days of TV. Though he was initially a British citizen, I believe his love for the U.S. reflected all of the best feelings an immigrant to our shores could express. I always suspected that it was he who chose Aaron Copeland"s "Fanfare For The Common Man" as the theme music for Omnibus. Most people don't know that, like Katherine Hepburn, Alistair Cooke was a survivor of the Great Long Island Hurricane in the 1930s.
As for Vincent Price, his great avocation was art. When they were getting ready to open the new Los Angeles Museum of Art on Wilshire Boulevard, Vincent Price was under consideration to be the first Executive Director of the place. In the running with him was another Hollywood icon whose avocation was art as well: Edward G. Robinson.

Diana Rigg was my favorite. One of my favorite series was The Avengers with her and Patrick McNee, so I loved watching her to see how she aged and what she was wearing.
