India & Sri Lanka prepare spinning wickets in home matches & that's why they have a fine record against other opponents in test matches at home.
Now it doesn't mean that India &Sri Lanka are better teams than Pakistan. Pakistan is as good as any other team if not better but i feel that one of the reasons why Pakistan have lost a few important test matches in the last 5 years is that they prepare flat batting beauties instead of bowlers friendly wickets.
500 is a normal score in Pakistan. People like Rahul Dravid, Mohammed Yousuf & Jaques Kallis will never get out on a Pakistani wicket in 100 years.
They should try to produce wickets that give equal help to Bowlers & batsmen. That is when they will produce best results in the future.
They have good swing & seam bowlers now(Asif,Gul & Tanvir). They are wasting the talent of Asif & Gul by preparing dead tracks.

Agent - Yes i agree that they need a good opener. Every team needs a good opening combination. I think they should back Salman Butt & Imran Nazir. I don't think Hafeez is mentally tough to handle test cricket.
Sami may get a chance in Shoaib's absence. On dead wickets,you need to have a bowler that has pace in the air. Sami may give away some runs but he is a vital bowler on dead tracks in test matches.
But i still believe that their best chance to win a test match is by preparing a good bouncy wicket with some grass. This will give their swing/seam bowlers to showcase their talent.

Maybe so, maybe not however, Pakistan needs another Saeed Anwar bc, their opening batsman are not doing anything for return of Pakistani bowlers attacks VS RSA. However, the PCB selectors should have replaced Mohammad Sami from Danish Kaneria bc, praying after a wicket won't do anythin for Pakistan. Pakistan needs Mohammad Sami to replace Danish kaneria & Pakistan needs another opening batsman like Saeed Anwar & Imran Khan.
