They actually tell me that not only they hope I win, but they also say that I should want to win one of those smaller big wins like "3 Blue 7" or "3 White 7s" and avoid the jackpot because I get taxed if my winnings are over $1,200?

WTF is up with that? Can you believe that those bozos have actually been saying that lately?
"IT'S A JACKPOT, THAT'S THE GOAL TO TO TRY TO WIN! OF COURSE I WILL GET TAXED ON THE WIN, BUT IT'S A BIG WIN AND THAT'S THE GOAL!"

Have they been trained to say that bogus crap lately?

Okay Genius, play it your way. I hope you hit a big jackpot and cry when they make you fill out the paperwork so the Government can steal half of your winnings. They are only tying to help you make money in a slower but better way so you can get by without paying taxes.

They might be trying to make you feel better when you only win $50 bucks or so and not some huge jackpot. That way you'll keep playing, and not go to some other casino when you can't hit the jackpot.

But I'm with you, who wouldn't rather win major $$$$ and fill out some forms and maybe have up to half taxed, than win $1000. How lazy are people getting that they don't want to fill out a tax form on major winnings?

I'd just thank them for the advice and order another drink!

Ya gotta love Vegas! Where anything goes... What's wrong with an employee offering a little advice AND try to save you some money (taxes)? If you're a regular at a certain casino, sometimes the employees know you from just seeing you there a lot. They probably figured you could use some advice and a drink. Or, they thought to tell YOU where the "hottest" slots where going to be at the time! (Hint, hint...). Sometimes casino employees do have inside info. and pass it along to 'regulars'. They're also hoping you tip them. It's standard procedure to most of them and not meant to be offensive. Take a chill pill or have another drink, after all... IT'S VEGAS BABY!!!

I have never had any BS like that. What is so cool about Las Vegas is you can say FU to them walk out the door and in five minutes walk in to another place that wont give you that BS and be playing for the big jackpot.

Anyone going to Vegas thinking they are going to win is in La La Land.
Gambling should be considered entertainment only.
If it is not fun, then its time to quit.
Vegas is built on the middle man who goes to Vegas with a gambling budget of around $500 and plans on loosing it, but has fun while doing so.
Winning is a bonus.
Count your blessings if you do win.
