How do I find out if it's worth more than $10.?

There are two possible things your $10 bill could be. Both of them are good, but one can be much better.
The first and more common possibility is that you have what collectors call a Federal Reserve banknote. In place of the seal at left, it has the name of a specific Federal Reserve branch bank spelled out. It can make a difference which bank it is, and condition of the note makes a huge difference. These would be worth $20 dollars on up.
The second possibility is something called a National Bank Note. This has the name of a specific national bank spelled out at left, and the National Bank charter number appears in bold black numerals at both left and right. Depending on the bank, city, and state, this can be worth anywhere from about $35 for a low grade note on the most common bank up to several thousand dollars.
I need a better description of your note (What bank? Spell it out completely, please. Include the serial number.) You may contact me through Yahoo answers.
Bottom line: You have a good one, maybe a very good one, but I need more details to tell you how good.

thats interesting cause i have a 1929 nickel. it was worth about $1.15 which isnt much but when you think about it its like 27 times its original value, so that 10 dollars could well be worth a pretty penny (metaphorically speaking). to find out my nickels worth i think i just typed in 1929 nickel in google and it came up with a few coin sites.
