It all depends on how you feel. If you're comfortable enough with your pregnancy to make the trip but I'm guessing that at 8 weeks you are, just go ahead en enjoy. I did a 10 hours trip by bus (that is spent 10 hours in the bus got to where I was going, stayed 2 days there and came back home) a month before I gave birth to my daughter and everything went just fine.

Yes of course car trips are safe...especially this early in pregnancy. Enjoy it while you aren't 8 mo along and feel huge and uncomfortable! Just make sure you are drinking plenty of water to keep your blood flowing and your circulation going and make sure you stop at least every hour and a half/two hours for a good 15 min and walk walk walk to keep the blood flowing for you and the baby! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, congrats on the baby and I wish you a safe and healthy delivery!!
BTW -- You will be having doctors appointments before Christmas and you can always bring this up with your doctor at an appointment and see what she has to say. I'm sure she will say it's more than ok and tell you the same....drink lots of water and walk walk walk! Good luck!

You will be fine as long as you pull over and get out and walk every 2 hours or so. Sitting for long periods will cause a lack of blood flow to your lower extremeties.
The only time that you should avoid making a long trip during pregnancy is if you're high risk or you're past 34 weeks.
If you're really concerned all it takes is a 2 minute call to your OB's office.

you should talk to your doctor closer to the date because that will make a differance depending on how things are going. That being said...I am 20 weeks with twins and I am going to be going from Alaska to Illinois on a 6hour flight. My doctor gave me the okay regardless of the fact that I have had some complications. I am going to keep hydrated and get up and walk every couple of hours so I would think that as long as you are dinking plenty of water and moving around you would be fine. You are gonna have room to lay in the back seat if you need to or no? I bet that would help you feel better either way. GOOD LUCK! HAPPY PREGNANCY!

Check with your doctor, but if everything is going well, it's not likely to be a problem. You might want to make fairly frequent stops - for potty breaks and to walk around a little.
For almost all pregnancies, the babies are secure in the mom and aren't much bothered by what goes on outside.
Have a good trip - and quit worrying.

Car trips are safe, why wouldn't they be? Just make sure you get out and stretch your legs every couple of hours to improve circulation, because being immobile for long periods puts you at risk for blood clots in the legs.

as long as youre pregnancy is "normal" and you have no problems it should be ok.
drink plenty of water and make sure you get out every 2 hrs or so to walk, stretch, and get your blood flowing.
you are allowed to travel up to 36 weeks by car, boat, train, plane , car whatever, but after then you should stay w/in 1 hr of your hospital.
of course, make sure your dr knows what you are planning. and this is all assuming you have a healthy, normal preg w/o problems

When I went to Virginia Beach while preggo, all the doc told me to do was drink water, wiggle around alot in the car and take a break and walk every 2 hours or so. Now it is different for every one, but this seems to be pretty good!!
