hello Yahoo! So I'll be presenting an HTML workshop at my school and there's a question I'm a little stuck on. Why use HTML over Dreamweaver? How can I present an answer to this question? Thanks. =]

Why HTML over DW? If you code by hande you will learn actually how to create a webpage. If you use DW on a graphic mode you can write your text & insert pictures etc.. without the need to use html because DW do it for you on the background. Now you keep in mind that DW comes with
the design mode and the code mode. So you can actually write html using the code mode. DW can be use as an editor like notepad.:)

Well, first think of why you would be doing an HTML workshop instead of a Dreamweaver workshop.

Also, HTML gives the freedom to allow you to write code that may not be pre-formatted in Dreamweaver. However, writing your code in dreamweaver helps to assure that you don't miss anything like closing tags and such. Really, I would rather use dreamweaver as it is the #1 WYSIWYG program and it helps that you can see what you are doing as you do it.

HTML itself is always more up to date with browser specifications and allocations where as new developments in browser capabilities are only updated in Dreamweaver with plug-ins and new versions of the program.

I hope that was helpful. good luck!

If the exact text title of your workshop is "Why HTML over Dreamweaver?" then you should completely scrap over because that means you didn't get it.

The correct topic is why would you write HTML directly, without the assistance of Dreamweaver? What is produced by Dreamweaver at it's best case scenario? That also means its limit at what it does, someone writing HTML without Dreamweaver clearly wanted to top that so what is being written is better suited for what the project demanded. You should think that way to carry on your workshop; good luck for the rest.
