OK,this is getting really annoying, I've tried uninstalling all the programs I don't need, I run CCleaner daily, run virus scans with Avast! AVG Free and AVG anti-spyware. Still extremly slow, deleted startup programs, deleted sound OOPS! I'm about to snap, so what in the world do I do, reinstall windows? That was what I was thinking, so give me all you have

Thx in advance

Its Microsoft Windows - it does that. Format & re-install. After your fresh install, take a system image using Ghost (or similar) - you'll need to re-install about every 6 months (on average).

Don't run conflicting anti-malware software. Use AVG Free for Windows viruses and SuperAntiSpyware for Windows spyware. Defrag daily.

OK, don't pull out your hair, try this, when you turn on your comuper, hit F8 and then hit Safe Mode then find your defrager and defrag the system. The longer you take between defrags the slower the computer is going to be. Also it may be a good idea to do a disk clean, getting rid of all those temporary Internet Files. As for reinstalling Windows, you should have a disk or floppy for that. Insert it into the drive and click on RUN and let it reload for you.

Do Ctrl, Alt, Delete.

After the task manager pops up, click on the Processes tab. Right on the bottom, it should say the CPU usage of the processes listed.

If you look at the list, there will be a column called Mem Usage which has all sorts of values for different processes. Now, are there any processes which are using vast amounts of memory? If so, those may be slowing your computer so click on those and click End Task.

However, there are exceptions. Even processes using large amounts of memory shouldn't be closed. Don't end the tasks of SYSTEM processes or any processes that you are using such as iexplore. Only close (if necessary) the user ones.

Sounds like you either aren't deleting all that is there, or using the programs in such a way they can't find the spyware crap.
You can format and reinstall but why not try this first.
Print it out and try.

*Download, install and the get the updates for the following, but DO NOT RUN A SCAN YET:

Adware

Spybot15
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html

SuperAntispyware

*Then, DISCONNECT from the internet.

*Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Internet Options and delete all browsing history (cookies, temporary internet files etc). Check the box, Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons.

*Make sure your folder settings allow you to see the ALL your folders, Go
to My Computer>Folder Options>View. CHeck all the show files boxes and UNCHECK all the Hide boxes. Click apply and ok.

*Go to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings \temp
Delete all files. (for each user)

*Delete all in recycle bin

*Next, boot up in safe mode (Tap the F8 key every few seconds as the system boots up until the screen Saying Safe Mode option appears).

*Now run the above spyware programs.

I would also download and install Firefox, its less vulnerable than IE.
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
(Then configure it for pop-ups and other things, like Clearing everything when you exit. tools>options>privacy tab to clear everything)
PS SOme ppl turn off system restore before doing this, and then turn it back on after. CHoice is yours, I have never turned it off

ok... this is just a word of advice... DO NOT GO TO THE WEBSIGHTS PEOPLE GIVE YOU!!! IT HAS MORE SPAMS AND SCAMS AND VIRUSES WHICH WILL DISABLE YOUR COMPUTER!!!!! Try backing up all your data and files, and uninstall every program in your computer. Go to programs and settings, which is likely in disc drive C and then you can uinstall everything you don't need. It is likely your computer will be better. If these dont' work ou should try reebooting your computer. Ask your computer nerds around you fo9r assistance.

Turn all that spy crap off unless you going to do a scan. get a decent registry cleaner. get spybot search and destroy but don't let it run all the time like it wants to do. Dirty registry will slow you down more than anything. I just deleted 726 files out of mine yesterday. That was after using a cleaner.
