Another great question and 99% great answers, what more can I say? Except I remember years ago I broke my ankle late at night once on a quiet street and how scaredI was, luckily someone helped me.... My friends and family now say I am tooo kind, stopping sometimes to get a friendly bug out of a spider web or help get some tiny creature off a road, bu I am starting to think that in certain situations if something is in your path that needs help(like you! JUST KIDDING!) we are obligated to help. If it is part of a bigger picture, then it could be a test or will help our karma anyway, if there is NOTHING well we should still be halfway decent anyway, surely??

Helping others makes one's heart big. Helping must come from your heart and not expect something in return. Anyway, when you help there is always this generosity from you. Helping other people makes other happy. This is the best thingin life. I have to give help because of the reasons i just mentioned, For me that is what life is. Don't be selfish for God knows what you do to others. The pursuit of happiness will turn out to be as easy as you help others. It will make you a greater person than being unselfish and thinking of yourself always.
Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

You bet I would! And why are we all here on earth.... if not to help one another. When you help another... you help yourself by growing and learning.. in so many ways. There's little that gives me greater joy than to know I'm being useful and productive and sharing what I can with another. When you 'pay it forward' ...you create a burst of positive energy. It's very contagious... a win-win situation. Your situation will never be lessened from gestures of kindness... you just need a different gauge to measure. Just do it.

When you "help" someone it should be with the thought that the only benefit you get is satisfaction..It is good karma and I would always hands down help others.. You never know that by helping someone else your situation might turn around.. And if it doesnt you still have the satisfaction in knowing you made soemone else happy :)

It all depends. If I see a woman or child being attacked I think I have to act even at the risk of great peril to myself. Women and kids I will act, other situations, even less dangerous situations involving women or children, whether I help them depends on how I am feeling at the time.

Of course? Not everything in life has to be motivated by "what's in it for me". That is a selfish immature attitude. You do the right thing because it's the right thing to do, not because you might get some reward.

I like helping people, if help had another name, it would be "splover". thats why im on yahoo answers-----> to help people. but not if it means making my situation worse, sorry but I come first. I'm pretty sure noone would help me either if it meant making their situation worse

i would only help if the person i help is somehow more important to the world than me, or helping more than one person, to have the ends justify the means, also especially if somehow i would be remembered in doing the act.

Helping others is helping yourself. It took me years to understand, 'it's best to give than receive'. My grandmother use to tell me this all the time. Today I know, 'you receive what you give'.
