Oh yes Cat, I live with back pain. I hurt my back in 2004 lifting a vac um cleaner. Every since I went to Doctor after Doctor. Most of them just wanted to put me on addictive medication. And have me get back surgery. Now it is 2007, and eating right, maintaining my weight, and keeping active, by walking everyday. And using hot, and cold pads, not every day. And getting lots of rest, I have lived with my back pain. Sorry about your back pain. I think it is one of the worse feeling of pain from the body.

I had an operation on my neck once.
Have your back checked by the doc....you may have disc trouble. In that case, you will need some steroids or an operation.

My mother was given a gift certificate to a medical massage shop and when they were done working her, she had no more back pain for several days.

Yep I have and it was agony, I was diagnosed as having a condition usual suffered by obese people or pregnant women, which is strange as I'm a very slim male!

my husband has had chronic back pain for 15 yrs. its definitely no fun. he had a herniated disc and had surgery that messed it up even worse.
