I instinctively would go for B, but would probably rationalise a short while after, that it's best to get help, so would then go for C, and if they tell me to ignore her, I would go back to B and find out for myself what she needs, before discarding what could be a legitimate emergency.

I'd say C. My mom was in a nursing home the last 3 months of her life ... i went through HELL to get her in the one she was in because the others in the area are so bad and have very bad reputations. There was a woman there though who would call for help all the time. She thought she was being held prisoner -- poor thing. There was nothing wrong with her except the dementia that was eating her mind. So sad.

This reminds me of one of the exam questions I had to take before volunteering at a hospital. My answer would be C) get a staff member to check on her. Regardless of how many times the patients calls for help, the hospital staff should always respond & not ignore her.

I have seen aweful things in nursing homes. Most of the clients do not have families who make sure that they receive quality care.
I would be a advocate for that patient. There might not be anything that can be done - but I would check into it!!

Ignore her. Some people in nursing homes are not in their right minds and call for help continuously. The people working there know who these people are.

I would check on her myself, old people are very fragile and something as simple as falling can injure or sometimes kill them. If the staff told me she did it all the time I would instantly forgot I heard anything

i'd probably ask staff if they were aware of the situation and ignore the situation after that. i taught at a school for students with emotional and behavioral disorders. one student who was schizo effective would yell, "help! i'm dying! i'm sick! oh the pain! help! i'm dying!" for hours... when he obviously fine. it was for attention, to get out of work, and usually during/after an event where he was hearing voices or seeing things. after a while, it's easy to ignore.

Check on her and then send staff member. Because if they say she's ok you won't know for sure that she is and you'll worry about her.
