There are so many different things to put diapers in. The best thing I have found is buying the small diaper sacks that smell like baby powder. Put each diaper in one and tie it up before putting it in the trash. I get a box of 100 at the dollar tree for $1!

We've been using the Diaper Champ (or "the DC" as we've fondly nicknamed it) for 14 months now and we love it. You just need a regular garbage bag, like a 13 gallon or so one, and it goes right in the inside. We've never had a problem with smells, and empty it every week or so, maybe even a week and a half. It's in our son's room, and I am really sensitive to smells, and it really does not bother me. Sometimes if I don't close a diaper right, poop will leak, but all I have done is wipe out the inside with a wipe real quick, and there's no problems from then on. It's really easy to use and probably the best gift we got at our baby shower.

Lots of people say they just use zip lock bags and take the trash out. We live in an apartment with the trash in the garage below the building, and sometimes even overnight was too long to smell 2 or 3 especially stinky diapers.

So for that, the diaper champ or genie are fine. They sort of contains smells and give you an easy system to dispose of the diapers. To keep the smell away, you still need to empty once a day and occasionally wipe the whole inside out with bleach.

i read lots of bad and good reviews on this b4 i had my baby. i got this 4 my shower though and now my baby is 4months old. it does keep the smell in. i have it right in her nursesry and it doesnt stink. i will add when u have 2 take out the trash though u should take it out the room as the smell will escape from it but with anything else give a burst of rooms pray itll be fine. i love that it takes regular garbage bags or any bags 4 that matter so i dont need 2 purchase seperate bags made especially for it. i change it about 2-3x a week and that is sufficient sometimes if its a bit extra full i will change it more but it does pretty well. i think u should try it

I've had it for over 11 months, and it's worked very well. As it gets about 3/4s full, you probably want to change the bag because it'll gradually get harder to push the diapers in there. I also used the GLAD bags with the odor control strips, and that helps a lot. Overall, it's been pretty good.

I had a Diaper Genie, and I found that I had to empty it out every other day to keep the scent of the BAD diapers out. Also, I had to wipe out the inside and top to keep it from getting moldy. I was not pleased with it, so I just bought the scented trash bags from Wal-Mart (vanilla, orange, or lavender scented), and I just throw the dirty diaper in, tie it up and toss it in the regular trash can. Works waaay better, more convenient, and is cheaper.

It sounded like a great gadget to have but did not end up working out at all. It does smell after even a day. I now just throw the diapers in the regular trash, the real"bad" ones get double bagged.

I don't have one of these, but I have the Diaper Gene(which is horrible). I have read good things about this diaper system. At least you don't have to by the refills all the time like the you do with the Diaper Genies.

it's easy to use and keeps the smell in better than a regular garbage, but not that well. I still have to change the bag every day, and then it stinks up the room when i do it.

I wouldn't buy it. I got one for my baby shower & it does keep the smell in, but only when it's closed. As soon as you open it to put a diaper in, it smells like poop & flowers. I only use it because I got it as a present.
