I got two silver arowanas, 8 inches from the petstore.I tried giving them floating dried shrimp and the pellet but they dont even seem to notice the food let alone eat them. The tank is bigg and I just set it up new. Water is new as well. There is a canister filter with a bed filter and an internal filter with the aquarium. I am worried. Pls help

They are probably still extremely stressed from the transfer from the store to your house, and then the acclimation to the tank. Because of that, they probably won't eat for another day or two. Many Arowanas will not eat dry food, and will only settle for frozen food (when they are small) and live food (as they mature). Crickets are a great live food for them as they primarily prey on insects. As I'm sure you know, Silver Arowanas will reach 3+ feet and require VERY large tanks (I would use 200 gallons as the ABSOLUTE minimum but larger is better).

Arowanas as all fish are frightened when they are introduced to the tank and will take a few days to come around. When they are small, Arowanas should be fed live and frozen brine shrimp, black worms, and a few small fish.

yes its normal for fish to ignore food for sometime when they are transferred to a new aquarium. But still you better consult with the pet shop where you bought the fish. They would be able to tell you about its eating habits.

it's not a problem it's just a change of place when they get set they'll start eating on their own so stop worrying!!
