dawnb, relax. This is a just a question to see if people value practicality over beauty in a house. Of course you can have both.

I would rather have a practical, easy-to-utilize house....that I can make beautiful on the inside.

And what is the reason that you think you can't live in an easy to utilize house that is easy on the eyes? Where would you get the idea that you don't have the ability to have both? My husband and I have always built beautiful homes that conform to our utilization. That's why you get choices. Apparently you haven't had much in the way of choices in your life.

I'd pick a practical house. You can make anything beautiful with what you do with it. But you can't fix a kitchen that's awkeward and uncomfortable.

I want the one that is easy to clean...

screw having a 20,000 sq ft home..someone has to clean that thing..

and I do NOT like hiring maids...or things like that...I want people to go to school and get careers...God gave me hands so I could clean my own house..
