maybe because the truth is they are insecure and they think they can let other races down by treating them bad while they put themselves on the pedestal. they just can't accept the truth that someone who's a "stranger" to them can do better.

I believe it exists ,inplace where people dont want to admit. It's becoming more public now. Especially since the 9/11 incident, and now this jena , and other such incidences lately.
However I also believe that there are someways that it is not noticed around us as we are amuned to most of it.
There are religious, and sexual, and other such prejudice ways that can tie in with racism. People like to find weakness or things about others to take the atenttion of of themselves and to feel superior over others.
We are all equal in life, but no one would know it because we dont want someone that is different from us to be brought up to where we think we are above them.

Racism is not a natural part of life, it exists because of son.
But people keep it alive because they want to see other suffer and hurt.
Just a few links to think about.

Human nature. Obvious physical differences make people easy prey - humans just love to pick on each other. I wonder why this has evolved - maybe it's because we haven't been real predators for so long we just have to find another way to attack. Or maybe it's just natural to reject difference. Another thing of course is culture - if people are brought up surrounded by racists, they're going to think that's a normal way to behave. It takes a lot to rise above the culture you were raised in. It's also ignorance - people have a tendency to be afraid of things they don't know about, and people hide their fear behind attack.

Humans are supposed to be so highly evolved, but we retain baser instincts than animals I think.

the problem of racism has existed for a long time. you grow up with people who look like you do, and you have certain expectations of how they react to things, how they learn, etc. then you come across a people that even though they are human, they are noticeably different in their skin color. they don't speak the same language, they react differently than you do to situations, they don't learn at the same rate you expect them to, etc. thus you become convinced that they are inferior to your kind of people. you then start to believe that your kind of people are superior to others. this goes on generation after generation, and at some point your people have now ingrained racism.

i don't like racism since i believe that everyone is precious and that we all need to work together if the human race is to maintain its position in this world.

Some people think they are above n better than others because they think their s-- t don't stink. That what money does to you. I hate it when people us the "race card" you did wrong you pay the consequence's regardless of race, wealthy or not. If we were all the same color and a comment was directed toward another person would it still be considered racist?

I read an article about a conservative activist group protesting college scholarships for minority groups because of discrimination. While reading it I assumed that the group would be comprised of white males. (My own generalization). As it turned out, several were minorities who had taken advantage of the scholarship in question. That sort of took the wind out for me. It occurred to me that racism is deeply ingrained, so much so that it is impossible to get rid of. Perhaps if we could just not be a white or black or brown or whatever and be human. To recognize each other as human before all of the other categories become involved.

Sorry, about the rambling, I'm tired.

this is do to a few things 1 they have a misconstrued misconception about how to treat people 2 they really don't care about them selves less any one else 3 some one told them that it was okay to treat people that way 4 there must be an equal share of mean disdainful people in the world so that there can be people whom bring the light, happiness, joy and peace in some fashion into the world.
