Those things are swarming around the pitcher and batter like crazy. Looks like they're playing ball in a swamp.

Its the midwest and it get's really humid. Bugs like humid climates... so maybe.

They're called Canadian Soldiers, and they are attracted to moisture(perspiration) and NOT repelled by bug sprays... So spraying a liquid bug spray actually attracts them even MORE!!!

I was just about to ask the same question. It is disgusting. Especially all of the dead ones on the pitchers neck that drowned in his sweat. Remind me to never go to Cleveland.

It's happened before, in 2004. Looks like some scout didn't do his/her homework and didn't pack a crate of OFF.
