My last day was a month ago (I quit)...I still haven't seen my final pay check. The law says I have to get it within 7 days. But is it my responsibility to pick it up, or theirs to mail it? I don't have time to go all the way there to get it, nor do I want to...they caused me so much stress and aggravation I'm likely to punch someone out there.

I think he has 72 hours to get it to you. Check out labor law.

They must make the check available within the required time. That is normally on the date you would normally be paid for the last day you worked. It is YOUR job to find out how they do that. Since you did not say where you are, NO ONE can tell you the actual laws.

If you are in California it should be available to you within 72 hours, if they don't call you and tell you to pick it up, they should mail it, if have not mailed to you after 72 hours, you can probably sue them and get penalties for every day they are late. If you are in a different state you probably have similar laws.

You have to go pick up your last check. There are probably forms and paperwork you have to sign if you haven't already had an exit interview.

Your former employer doesn't have to mail that check to you. You could call and ask but he could also tell you to come pick it up.

If you were let go, the employer had 72 hours to make your check available. But if you quit, you should go pick it up.

You may have been stressed, but this job is now part of your work history. If you are planning on using it on your resume, you have better suck it up and repair the bridge you may have burned.

You need to call them and see what their policy is. If you are worried about facing them ask if it possible to send a relative or friend in with a signed note from you.
