It's normal. They don't have control over their bodies yet at that age so a muscle will involuntarily jerk, waking them up. It just startles them. Nothing to worry about.

My son does something like this, but with him, it's right at the end of his naps, and not often at all..

But when he was around the same age, he'd do the same thing.. His problem was gas.. He would get a painful bubble and it would wake him, so before every nap i would give him mylicon drops and burn him before putting him down.. Then after getting the hang of that, he started to cut his 1st bottom teeth.. They were both completely through at 1 1/2 months.. 10 days apart.. So those were his reasons for waking up..

But it is very normal.. It's nothing serious, bad dream, teething or gas bubbles =]

My daughter is 6 months and she still does it. It is normal I say she has bad dreams too because of the face she makes before she does it. He is fine.

very normal --my baby does it (she is almost 5 months). But if for some reason you are still concerned after hearing what we all have to say (cause it isn't like you know us) contact your baby's doctor. He/She will be able to calm your nerves.

VERY normal. My daughter did it, too. Sometimes still does; however, now it is because she is cutting teeth. I would not worry about it at all. :)
