The carbon dioxide in your breath reacts to produce calcium carbonate which is insoluble so it forms a milky solution.

Ca(OH)2 (in solution) CO2 >>> CaCO3 (precipitate) + H2O

It turns milky.

This is the reaction of the CO2 that you exhale and the lime water.

Ca(OH)2(aq) + CO2(g) ----> CaCO3(s) + H2O(l)

limewater + Carbon dioxide give Calcium carbonate and water.

Calcium Carbonate makes the water appear milky
