Have you tried your county website? Sometimes they post filing fees.

The cost of the filing fee is probably less than $100. The real expense is the lawyer fees.

I am not from Kansas, but I have found Ask.com to be very, very helpful for just about any question out there! I hope this helps!! (I have looked up the civil suit maximum amount allowed to collect if you sue in the state where I live, and I started my research on Ask.com.) You just go to that site and ask a question and it will pull up a lot of websites.

The attorney fees won't be that bad. Most of the time, you will only pay a retainer fee up front. Then, you'll speak with the attorney about all of the specifics and he/she will let you know if your case is worth pursuing...in other words, if he/she thinks you honestly have a chance of winning.
