The reciprocal of -1/x at x=0 doesn't even exist since -1/x isn't even defined at all at 0.

A reciprocal is the inverse of a number. The multiplication of which is always equal to 1.

Example; 2/3 the reciprocal is 3/2
2/3x3/2=6/6=1

5 the reciprocal is 1/5
5/1x1/5=/55=1

You have -1/x If x =0 Then you have -1/0. There is no such thing as division by 0. It is considered undefined.

The reciprocal would be 0/-1. -1/0x0/-1=0/0 =0 (answer must be 1 for them to be reciprocal. There is no answer.

The reciprocal of -1/x = x/-1 if x does NOT equal 0

However, -1/x has no reciprocal if x = 0.

A number times its reciprocal = 1

If x = 0 then (-1/x)(x/-1) = (-1/0)(0/-1) = 0/0 which
does NOT equal 1, since 0/0 is undefined.

Hey there!

The reciprocal of -1/x is -x. If x=0, then the reciprocal of -1/0 is -0/1 i.e. 0. It is the same as saying that the reciprocal of infinity is 0.

Hope it helps!

Well the reciprocal of any fraction is to switch the numerator with the denominator:

Say if you have (A/B), its reciprocal is simply (B/A):

In your case i think the question says x cannot equal 0, with the not equal sign being, = with a slash through it,

It says that x=0, because (-1/0) is undefined since you can't divide by zero, so the answer is:
(x/-1)

Reciprocal of a fraction means that same number with the numerator being the denominator and the denominator being the numerator, as in y/x is the reciprocal of x/y.

Reciprocal of -1/x = x/-1, and since any number divided by 1 is equal to that number, then the reciprocal becomes -x.

Note that x/-1 is also similar to -x/1; Also, when multiplying or dividing numbers with different signs, the answer is always a negative (-); with same signs, the answer is always positive.

Hope this helps :)

Technically -1/x is not defined as x=0
but -x/1 = 0 of x = 0

Reciprocal value of a number A is B if A*B=1

With fractions it's easy to get a reciprocal value, you just invert the fraction.

In your case that would be

A=-1/x
B=1/(-1/x) => x/-1 => -x

Hence reciprocal of -1/x i -x ;)
