i am 38 weeks pregnant and found out that my bf gave me chlaymidia....nice...anyways, has anyone taking antibiotics during pregnancy and was everything ok? I know they can cross the placenta. I am on a single one time 1g dose of azithromycin

Antibiotics are totally safe to take. I have been given them before when I had a UTI during pregnancy.
I hope you will play it safe from now on as far as sexual activity goes. As you know now, there's no such thing as safe sex. Abstinence is the only 100% effective method.

Most antibiotics are safe during pregnancy (at least, safer than continuing to suffer from an infection)... so as long as your doctor knows you're pregnant, you're fine. if your doctor didn't know, all you have to do is call the pharmacy where you picked up the prescription and ask the pharmacist if your particular medication is safe during pregnancy. and don't worry!

antibiotics are safe during pregnancy. they may give you constipation though, so eat more fiber and take fiber supplements so that you won't be any more uncomfortable.
chlamydia can be dangerous for your baby, so make sure to take those antibiotics.
and dump your bf, he's a jerk and obviously sleeping around.

Of course they are safe, or your doctor wouldn't prescribe them to you.
And surely the effects of chlamydia would be far riskier to your baby if left untreated.
And hopefully your boyfriend is being treated with antibiotics, too, so he won't reinfect you (although I'd just not sleep with him altogether - where'd he get the STD from?)

yep but it wasnt because my husband gave me something. it was because i was sick. some antibiotics are safe during pregnancy...just be sure whoever gave it to you knows your pregnant

Yes. I did. I had a terrible ear infection and the OBGYN said it would be okay for the baby. (Ear infections could potentially be dangerous for me however!)

yes i did because i got bit by a spider that rots your skin. the doctor said the medicine has no effect on the baby.
