I need to replace my oil pan gasket when i remove the gasket can i degrease it with degreaser wash it dry it with a shop towel and let it dry in the sun before putting it back on?When i remove whatever is left of the old gasket do i just put the new gasket on then the oil pan and put the screws in?Or do i have to use a sealent?Thank you ALL

You don't have to use a sealer but the gaskets don't lay very flat and gluing them on with a sealant makes it a whole lot easier to install the pan

use sealent or string as a tie down.
