Yes I may put out show towels for the benefit of guests. The non-guest towels are not quite as new or as pretty, but I would not describe them as "skanky" or threadbare!

I've heard about this small prestigous market town in Cambridgeshire, where apparently the people are very posh and practise high follouting gestures. I'm sure the people of that fair town only have super soft, clean smelling, fluffy towels.................

I once washed my hands round a friends house and when I asked if they had a towel that I could use I got a dirty look. I then washed my face as I don't like being dirty................... I left shortly afterwards, with wet hands and a wet face........

No. Definitely not. Towels in bathroom there for general use. Change them every few days. If having friends to stay, put fresh towels by there bed

Blimey what a load of hassle. I can't stand skanky towels for us or guests. I am always buying new towels and we all use them.

It's against everything I believe in -- having something that is not "useful" -- that is just vanity and shallow. Come on over and use our towels!! Granted, if I have company, I'll make sure there are clean ones BUT they may not match --- HA HA HA.

The ones in the bathroom are for visitors only. I use the one draped over the shower rod.

I know people who only keep the really good toilet paper for themselves. When guests come they hide it and put out the cheap and nasty stuff instead !
