Because you were taught to always want and expect more. Be happy with the small things in life and be happy for others who are happy too. Stop thinking about yourself and look at others that are more unfortunate than yourself.

You can be happy if you wanted.
You just need to forget all the sad stuff.
It's hard, but it's true.
You should go and do stuff that are fun.
People are only sad if they want to be.
And, not everyone is happy...
You can make things better by yourself.

As long as we have our yard stick of happiness by comparing with others,we can never be truly happy.We have to draw a line for ourselves
and learn to be happy with that.Of course,we can keep redrawing our line as well go ahead in our life but the line has to be ours.

I'm not very happy this week myself. My boyfriend and I split up. Things will get better, I know, but the question is.. are YOU sad all the time??
