I am looking to hear from the men here. Ladies can comment but leave the drama out please. What I want to know is this, for men is porn something separate from sex? Do men crave both sex and porn equally but differently or does the desire to view porn mean something lacking in the sexual sector? Thanks for all opinions!

Thank you all so far for your comments, hopefully we can keep this going. Just an FYI though this isn't one of those '"my friends' problems" things. I don't have a problem with porn and the use of it, this question came out of a debate with a close friend. He stated that even if his GF gave him whatever he wanted when he wanted he would still look at porn. So I wanted everyones take on this.

I feel that porn is not a substitute for sex nor does its use infer anything lacking in the sexual sector. They are two unrelated things. Even in a "perfect" life men will have sex with a partner look at porn and masturbate.

I don't think viewing porn means that something is lacking in the sexual sector, although a lot of men who don't have any other sexual outlet will look at porn when they masturbate. It is not the same as real sex, but it does have the effect of making men more sexually aroused. For me, some of is OK, but lots of it is disgusting too. And if the man in your life likes looking at porn, it has really nothing to do with you, It could be he needs something extra to arouse him, or he is simply curious.

Honestly....I can't speak for all men, but for me it's a bit of both......if am happy with my sex life I will still have the urge to masturbate if I am away from my gf for a while just to relieve sexual tension.....if on the other hand I'm unhappy with my sex life and have tried to make things better by talking things through with my gf and she is just unwilling to compromise well then whatever is lacking in the bedroom I get from porn.

Porn is like alcohol. Some is just fine. If it starts to get in the way of everything else (including sex with a real person) there's a problem.
Men are visual creatures. They like to look at other people being naked and having sex. When they'd rather look at other people doing it than do it themselves, you two have an issue do deal with.

I usually try not to stand on porn... the boxes aren't that strong & I could end up hurting myself if I fell off the giant stack of it that my friends & I have accumiliated over the years!! (*laughing*)
Porn is completely separate from sex... (it makes us want sex in many cases, but it's not sex in & of itself).
Some men crave porn and sex equally... I'd rather have sex than porn - but they're totally separate desires / cravings in me.

Well.... guys like me and probobly most others use porn in many ways.
.as a stimulant with sex [turns you on 10 times more]
.as something when you arent around and crave for it
.for easing of unwanted erections [not offen lmao]
I think that we do crave it in a sense but if we have enough action we wouldent need it. Its like... experiencing another girl but without the side effects. get the thrust of my answer??? its actually a good and not easy question to answer. Good luck with it. gb

i think most of guys like porn beucse they have some lackignin real sex that they see in porn . just imagine a gu yhas a fantacy of putting penis in mouth but hie girl dont do it.. then he fulfills this by seeing the porns in hwich this is done and masturbating, becaus e guys have a strong imgianatiosn of sex and they can assume having sex with any one or in any style jsut by seeing it and masturbating. thats the reason mos tof them see and like porn... if girls can do all in sex what guy want they will nto be atttracted to prons any more ..except for those who have not girls....

I find that when I'm more sexually active I tend to watch less porn, but that's just me.
