I heard tales/stories that a cat can kill you in your sleep by taking your breathe. What do you think? Is it true? Have you ever heard of this? Just another "old wives tale".

Wive's tale, probably because someone saw a cat in a crib the night before a baby was found dead of crib death.
For an interesting take on this, go rent a movie called "Stephen King's Cat's Eye" and watch the segment with Drew Barrymore in it.

old wives tale. if that was true people would never have cats or we'd be dying in our sleep.
but you know what is true? that if you die your cat will eat you, dogs on the other hands would rather starve before using that as a last resort. (i know someone whose a vet). i'm quite sure some time would pass before your cat would do that.

I own cats and that's just dumb. Cats to tend to get in babies' faces because they smell like milk. I imagine the rumor started because a cat laid on a baby's face to claim the milk as its territory.

I think it would take a bit more than that to kill you. Besides. how could a cat "take your breath"? What would it do with it?

Lions will. They put their mouths over their preys' mouth and nose to kill them by suffocation. I don't know if domestic or bobcats do this, but domestic cats are probably too small.

If is a big fat cat, and you are pass out drunk. He might sit on your face and sofocate you.

It's true, sounds weird but they like to sleep on your face and so they suffocate you - my mum used to say it when I was small. Thinking about it now though, it's probably just because she didn't want me to have a cat. I dunno.....
