I think it is a decision of the will and then write down those reasons and review them each day. You will need to do this one day at a time and every day. It is not easy so don't think that because it isn't easy you can't do it. You can!
You also need to stop the use of tobacco products altogether. If you are a Christian ask God to release you from this bondage.
I remember that when I quit smoking I thought, "I don't want to be a slave to a habit!" That worked for me but maybe keeping a picture of your family nearby to remind you why you are quiting will do it for you!

Congratulations for making the effort! It will be tough, but be strong and know that you can do it.
I smoked 2 packs of Marlboro's a day from the time I was 15-23. I am now 48 and haven't smoked since. I stopped smoking when we decided it was time to start a family. I so wanted to have a child in a smoke-free home.
Yup, it's tough. Don't give up, even if you relapse. Focus on the fact that you are about to have a child and the positive impact it will make when he sees that you don't smoke.
Start a college fund jar for your son. Every time you want a cigarette, take the amount of money it would cost for a pack and put it in the jar for your son. This will help both of you in the long run.
Remember -- you can do it!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!
Be so proud of yourself. Look at all the money you are saving. Your lungs are getting pinker every day. You smell so nice. You look healthy without that cigarette dangling out of your mouth. You are showing a good example to your child. I could go on & on.
I smoked many many years, I am so glad I was able to quit about 6 years ago. Best thing I've ever done. No regrets. You will soon feel the same way.
Just remember when you get that damn little urge to light up, if you say NO! the urge is gone. That little urge only last a few seconds. Keep saying no. Your doing great, keep it up sweetie.
PS they say the nicotene is out of the system in 4 days from quitting........so all you are feeling is the habit. you've beat the hardest part.

It sounds like you've traded one addiction for another. It's great that you've quit smoking, but dipping is not good. You'll need to quit all forms of tobacco and nicotine. If you need help doing this, there are several over the counter products that could help you. You might also speak with your physician about it as well, and ask his/her advice about the best way to tackle it.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Well, if you're STILL "on the Waggon..."- GOOD for YOU (& your kids)!!! But be FOREWARNED; you've got a couple of three weeks ahead of you that are GOING to be really ROUGH- so don't think you're out of the woods YET. ALSO, be CAREFULL that you don't end up replacing ONE bad Habit- with another! Addictions are sneaky things- and one little "excuse" to backslide, almost ALWAYS leads to hundreds more. So hang in there. Congratulations. & Good Luck! It's one of the BEST things you'll ever DO- in your Life! :)

When I stopped smoking, anything in my mouth help. Dipping is different, because the motion of smoking is not there. I used sunflower seeds and put one in my mouth every time to single a "drag".. congratulations.. eat candy and chew other things.

OK quit dipping cause that can cause oral cancer. Chew gum, lollipops, hard candy, toothpicks. It's the habit now, although if you are dipping you still get nicotine.
