my boyfriend's brother and sister-in-law told his mom a few days after her birthday. we took her out to dinner and she was expecting a gift but was confused for a second when she opened a bib with the words "i love gramma" and his sis-in-law embroydered "Queta" (my bf's mom's name) on the bib. It said "i love gramma Queta"

she started crying she was so happy.

To announce our second baby to my parents, I made a special card. It had a pic with our daughter on the front, and inside it said "Brooklyn is going to be a big sister!!!", with the due date and all. I snuck the card and some flowers into their house while they were gone. I figured that was a great way to completely surprise them. Had we said we needed to talk to them, or something, they'd have guessed before we even started to form the words. It was really fun getting that phone call when they discovered what we had left for them!

If its your first child, you could do the same thing but instead the card could have a copy of the ultrasound and say something like "Meet the newest member of our family" or "Congrats Grandma and Grandpa!"

We bought a picture frame that had 4 slots. We put pictures of our 3 kids and a picture of the positive pregnancy test in the 4th slot.

I told my husband by taking a digital test and leaving it on the back of the toilet. A couple hrs later when he went to the batroom, he found it. He was so excited, he forgot to go to the bathroom while he was in there.

I bought a small fruit bun from the bakery and put it in our oven in our apartment. On top of it, I made a little flag that said 'See You In November' with a dummy attached.

I'd invited my parents up (we had plans that day) to give them a 'late anniversary present' and told to search the kitchen...

Bun in the oven, get it?

They love telling that story!! It's the first grandkid and I wanted to make it a bit memorable for everyone

We're waiting to tell our families until after we know the sex, and then we're going to buy a few picture frames to stick a sonogram pic in saying "It's A Boy" or "It's A Girl".
With our first, we did a similar thing but we told them immediately after the first doc's appt so we had frames that said "I Love My Grandparents"

hi i needed to bypass to the department stores and purchase our first outfit for my toddler boy/female, and then prepare it to every person this way they'll understand climate it grew to become right into a toddler, yet it didnt take place as my hubby theory it grew to become into stupid and that it would be much less confusing in basic terms too tell them so we rang each and every person when I have been given out of the test. i needed to do something specific like that yet in no way strategies, we've alot of relatives so it would of been particularly traveling lol, yet like maximum folk say each and every person is incredibly impatient so you might tell them what it incredibly is and by skill of the time you get out of the test people would be ringing you etc, so which you wont have time to purchase something.
