Most definitely. Unfortunately I can say that from first hand knowledge of having a family member who was always an extremely amicable person become involved with drug usage. For his case, he became involved in using methamphetamine. It was several months before anyone actually thought that was the case but after another few months it was apparent that is what we were dealing with. He became extrememly agitated when questioned about anything, very nervous, paranoid and even though would show up for family functions, was disrespectful and found the first thing he could to fly into a rage over and leave. If we confronted him or reminded him of any actions he was immediately on the defensive and antoagonistic. It is a sad thing to watch but a year is an extrememly long time for someone to be involved in abuse and defintiely become a person you know longer know.

Well it depends on which drug and the extent of use. It's certainly possible. Maybe it's some sort of mental illness coming to a head?

Sometimes people just change and not necessarily for the better. It could be a million different things, nobody on here can figure it out for you.

Have you ever read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? The answer is yes, as most other answerers have said. Crack and meth make people particularly nasty.

Love don't cure this. Tough love might. Thing about tough love is, it protects the rest of the family without enabling the drug user.

Good luck.

i understand that each one of the habit that you describe can take position even as your sweet, effective boyfriend might want to have way, too many beverages. drugs are ideas-replacing and they effect distinct human beings in distinct procedures. you are able to understand a few those who change into thoroughly pleasant after some beverages and those who're thoroughly obnoxious. Steroid use can quite run havoc on thoughts and being quite short-tempered. If he does no longer use drugs, then i'd say that the guy might want to have a psychological ailment. some sorts of Schizophrenia will reason Paranoia....those with this imagine that all of us is out to get them and may want to strive against with every person who receives of their way. in case you want your boyfriend, ask him, without interogating him, if he's utilizing any drugs. besides, your b/f is on his thanks to getting into worry with the regulation. in case you seem on the overall public of folk in reformatory they reveal anti-social behaviors---are disrespectful of others and do not care about every person else yet themselves. to those human beings, they don't care who they damage or what they do to get what they prefer. this is as a lot as you even if you favor to stay with someone like this who has those features. Does he get violent---verbally or bodily..Rule of thumb, "If ever hit by utilizing a guy say bye bye".
