No, the result is constantly shifting programs, and reality tv. That's not better. Do you really want a new President every few weeks?

And we could cancel Congress because their numbers are even lower than the President.

And WHO would control these polls?

Abraham Lincoln probably suffered the lowest rating ever by an American President! Would the US be a better place(or one place!) if he had been forced to leave office in 1861?

NO. Polls are far too unreliable and people are far too fickle.

We do have such a system. It's called an election. We didn't have the technology 200 years ago to adopt a better system. We do now, though. In real democracies, a parliamentarian no confidence vote can trigger early elections. We are an older and hence inferior democracy. We need an upgrade.

well, then you'd need a mechanism for cancelling the congress too, which has even lower ratings. it could become one giant ugly mess, and the constitution doesn't have an answer for that one.

You either watch to much or to little TV... In any case we are a nation of laws and it just doesn't work that way.... which is a good thing.... using your TV example, it just panders to the lowest common denominator....

If that were the case Congress would have been cancelled long ago.

Because the Constitution wisely does not allow for that.
