Dang. Now why would a teenager need a $850,000 horse?

From Todd Minikus?? For only $850K?? Imagine what he would have charged for OhStar?!

(for a picture of OhStar & Todd go to:

To be fair - Bruce & Patty did enter into a contract & Todd was probably counting on that money (and new horse if I read the article correctly) to do other things with.

On the flip side - we 'everyday folk' are quite used to people getting the new horse all the way to their new home only to have them bring them back because their vet 'found something questionable' while checking in on the horse (after they performed the vet check at your barn) during that 2wk trial period. I think most of us know that feeling of seeing your horse coming back and having to refund 75-80% of the sale price back, whether the horse was $850 or $850,000!!

He is only human. It says that after some thought, they decided that the horse wasn't right for their daughter. The guy is just sore because it's Bruce Springsteen, and he's taking advantage of that to sue him.

Oh,and his daughter IS one of the top riders in the country for her age group ( she's 15 and just won best rider in her division at The Hamptons Horse Show;she's VERY good.)

I can't really see myself doing it, but if you have more money than you can possilby spend, why not buy your kid an $850,000 horse? You don't think he's going to buy her a Nissan Sentra when she turns 16, do you? It all seems very strange to us regular folks, but celebrities have a whole different frame of reference financially. At least he's funding a wholesome hobby for her instead of letting her become a rich party girl.

For a person with a life as such as his and his families this horse especially if a mare or stallion would be a great expense write off i purchased on a business venture or towards the beginning of one.

People who have succeeded in the "big time" have to buy big ticket items or they will be taxed to death.

Be happy for him and his daughter , it could of just as easily been you and your family if you had been so blessed.

The boss still is a brilliant songwriter and has made some amazing music, whether or not he still lives up to the ideals reflected in his lyrics. The same can be said of at least half of the rappers from the 80's who are still around . . . for instance, Ice Cube, Ice-T and Queen Latifah used to write lyrics about rebelling against the capitalistic power structure and they have now become subsumed by it, appearing in Disney movies, cop shows, cosmetics ads, etc.
I separate the artist from the art . . . Springsteen is still just human and I don't hold him to godlike ideals just because I revere his music anymore than I would contend that Luciano Pavarotti does not deserve to be remembered for his talents simply because he cheated on his wife & his taxes.

That's insane! I'd never pay that much for a horse unless it pooped gold or something! I would have backed out of the contract too.

WOW and I thought $20,000 was a ridicules price for a horse. I have 2 horses and I got them for free (initial price)
