To get ito Ivy League schools (or their equivalents) you need at least a 3.8 unweighted, greater than 4.0 weighted, lots of AP and Honors classes, a 2100 on your SATs and a killer admissions essay.

Yes! Don't worry. I applied and got into Cornell University and Harvard, and trust me, my grades were NOT perfect.
GPA is only one of the things that colleges look at. SATs are also examined and so are extracurriculars.
I only had a 3.8, but because I was in NHS, FNHS, FFA, Choir, and Chamber Singers both colleges considered me a worthy applicant.
Universities look for well rounded individuals, not just "brains".
Not surprisingly, many of the admissions counselors here at Cornell don't remember my GPA or my SAT scores: they remember my application essays. Those are what really make you stand out.
Don't stress; you'll be fine :)

yes, it's definitely possible. Two of my friends got into duke, one with one B and the other with two. They got their Bs in junior year. They were in IB, which probably helped a lot.

if you're asking as a freshman, don't really worry about it. Just challange yourself and take the hardest classes your school offers. colleges really look for that. Even if you have a 4.0 but only took honors while your school offers IB or AP, forget it.

Word of advice - solid extra-curriculars are where its at. plan ahead.

in freshmen... year? lol
yes i believe it is. they look at other things. plus if you have like a 3.5, but your sophomore and junior and senior year are liek 4.0 i'm sure they'll pardon it! also get lots of volunteer work done, talk about it on your applicaiton/ personal statement. belong to lots of academic extra curriculars. spanish club, diversity club, whatever. impress them in multiple ways, and take honors courses.
