Its one thing to cheat and quite another to keep on lying about it under oath.
Personally I would be willing to forgive her (and the many others like her, Floyd Landis included - sorry Floyd but the evidence speaks against you) if they would simply admit they made a mistake. We all make mistakes in life, and they are only compounded by denying them.
Personally I would have more respect for her (and the many others like her) if they would voluntarily give up their medals and admit that it was wrong to cheat. Furthermore, I think that the athletes themselves would be better off; as winning at big competitions is nice but self-esteem is way more important.
Furthermore we're all partly to blame because we put so much emphasis on winning with stupid slogans like: 'if you're not cheating, you're not trying hard enough'. Aren't we?
Your thoughts?

Why can't record books be amended?
Why can't you go back and give the medal to a second (or third) place finisher? Even if it doesn't get the attention that it would otherwise it could still be an important symbolic gesture.

Please don't drag the Clinton's into this sports debate, as far as I know neither Clinton ever participated in high level athletics. Thats a whole other ball of wax. (perhaps even more sticky and tangled than the sports debate)
