I'm so sick of hearing about Britney and Paris on every channel. Are there any petitions out there I could sign?

is this something i can complain to the FCC about?

I'm afraid the networks are covering the safest and least expensive stories. An in-depth report on 'real' news can be expensive and dangerous for their relationships with big/powerful sponsors (like the oil companies).

The best coverage is written on the Internet and some periodicals. Unfortunately, you must sift through the noise to get to the truth, but that's better than sifting through news that is completely digested to the point that it has no substance.

A very good source providing in-depth reporting is Harper's Magazine.

This subject and others will never die !!! people may be sick of it but others are not. As President of an Entertainment club, I do feel for you as I would rather talk about who deserved the Emmyor the Oscar or Grammy. just as I am writing this a reporter says the stories are addicting. So there is no end to it I am afraid to say.

The FCC has nothing to say about news content (remember freedom of speech?)
I took ABC as an example (googled ABC news contact). Here you go: http://abcnews.go.com/Reference/story?id=54216
