Are there benefits in being a "Top Contributor"? Do you know of any criteria to become one? Did Yahoo, inc.com contact you via Email to participate in a "new campaign" they were instigating? Then overnight paperwork to sign, relinquishing all rights to your screen name and Avatar? Or am I the sole screen name that said, " not for sale, nor free."

Ah Ha, that's where?

No, no benefits. No one even asks if you want the title.

I think the only criteria are number of answers and percentage of best answers, but I'm not certain about that though.

Nope, they've never asked me and I'll refuse if they do.
My Avatar and name are mine. I've been a sptfyr forever and I plan to stay that way.

The campaign is probably over because no one is interested and that is why no one else has heard of it.

You don't get anything nor do you sign anything. You receive e-mails when you reach each level. As you go to higher levels, you can ask and answer more questions and make more comments. I don't remember when I became a top contributor. You attain new levels according to points from answering questions. 2 points for questions answered and 10 bonus points for the Best Answer to questions. Levels by points are 1 to 249 Level one, 2 is 250 3 - 1000 4- 2500 5- 5000 6- 10,000 and 7- 25,000. You never give up any rights to a screen name or avatar or anything else. Everything is automatic so you do not need to ask nor will anyone request you to do anything other than ask or answer questions.

We had the Top Contributor badge earlier this summer. We have only been active on answers since May or June. We thought it was kind of strange that we achieved this designation so early, especially since we had relatively few points. We have always had over 25% best answers.

A month or so it disappeared after we were relatively inactive for a couple of weeks.

From what we've seen on the forums here, Yahoo can be capricious in their awarding of this badge. It is apparently a subjective "quality and quantity" judgment on the part of someone at Yahoo and not based upon any hard numbers.

I have not received anything, so I don't know what you are talking about.
