Try replacing the F with 75 ... namely
c=(5/9)*(75-32)
c=(5/9)*(43)
c=(5* (43/9))
c=(5* 4.778)
c= 23.889
So, 75 deg F is the same as 23.9 degC
Does that make sense?

Substitute 75 for F in the first equation to get C=5/9(75-32)
75-32=58 so C=5/9(58)
58*5=290 and 290/5=58 degrees =C

use "BODMAS" to do the order of the formula (i.e. do it in the order of the following.... Brackets, Of, Division, Mulitplication, Addition and Subtraction). in your formula there is only a bracket, a division and a mutiplication to do!. So in this case the part in brackets is first - do 75 minus 32 = 43 then do the division bit, 43 divided by 9, then multiply that by 5. I make it 23.89 when taken to 2 decimal places (easy on a calculator).
