I think it's worth saying something about it. Most clinics are very careful about not leaving messages over the weekend and not causing unnecessary anxiety for their patients, so hopefully they'd want to know this happened so they can prevent it in the future.
Odds are that the clinic was just very busy when you called (as most clinics are on friday afternoons), but someone still should have given you a call back if you got put through to voicemail during business hours.
In short, there are kinks in every phone system, but calmly reporting your experience will help them make things better.
P.S. I hope everything is alright with you and your baby- I'm thinking of you.

Since it has upset U let the doctor know about the incident at your next meeting. There may be a logical explanation. Perhaps the doctor had to leave on a call so told staff to cancel rest of appointments & go home. ON the other hand the staff may be skipping out when the doctor is away on a call & not expected back, without telling the doctor. Either way U need to know for your peace of mind. Congrates on the baby.

they are paid to be there- they should be there.
I work for an energy company and if I'm not here you can bet customers are calling and leaving rude messages and reporting me to the boss. I get in a lot of trouble. Actually even if I'm on the phone already- I'll get rude messages.
I can't wait to be done college to get a real job.
They may be on the phone- if they have call waiting- which most companies now give as a bonus that is why it would ring and ring and ring then go to voicemail.
Keep trying.
They're obviously there if they just left the message.

I would let it go for now. They could have turned the phone over to the answering service because of a staff meeting. I've had that happen to me before. If this happens again when you call next week I would then recommend asking to speak to the Office Manager to let them know that this bothers you.
I had it happen one time that I tried to call my doctor's office to ask something and it was hard to get thru because of the answering service taking care of the phone. I found out later it was because of a staff meeting that was happening at the time that I tried to call.

ok, you took tests, and since they couldn't reach you and I don't think they are allowed to leave results on a recorded message they merely asked you to phone them. If they want you to come in to discuss something then when you call them they will set up an appointment for you. Some doctors' offices prefer to tell you results in person (maybe in your case they want to start you on vitamins and give you a prescription for them or something) and I know they leave you hanging like that (up in the air) but 99.9% of the time it's nothing serious, so you'll have to wait till they're open next week to call. You could say that you tried to get back to them but you couldn't reach them...either they will say why or will ignore you....so leave it at that.

The staff might of had to attend a meeting, so the calls were forwarded. If it would of been extremely serious I feel they would of told you to come back in or report to an ER. However, when it is you and your condition, no matter who you are it is difficult to wait. If your specific Dr is the one on call the by all means have him paged.

No, not necessary. If I were you goes see doctor office to find out what is your result? They will tell you. Some one should able answer the phone when you called them. Depend on their business hours.

I would inform the neccessary people, because yes they should be avaliable when schedualed to be. I would probably not raise a huge fuss, just let them know how inconvient it was and that you hope to not experience it again in the future. If it happens again then raise a bigger fuss. Best wishes on the pregnancy and congrats!

I'd say just let it go. everyone deserves to go home early on a Friday every now and then. but if it is a reoccurring thing then just causally bring it up.
