Is it really true that wearing a bra helps if you have big breasts, support-wise? Or is it an old wives tale?

YES! Support is the reason you wear a bra. The bigger your boobs, the more support you need.

Yes it is true. If you do not have a good supportive well fitted bra you will not be very supported (saggy).
