IDK, but I find it much easier writing an equation in point slope form.
The question was write a standard form equation for a line who's slope is 2 and that passes through the point (3,1)

So my answer in point-slope form is
y=2x-5

I heard someone say there's way to convert the point slope form to a standard form, but I'm not sure if this is possible. Please explain how to write it into standard form =]

Standard form usually is ax+by+c = 0
In your example, it would be 2x -y -5 = 0

standard form is ax+by = c where a,b,c are all integers.

so the standard form of your simple eq is

y - 2x = -5
