You know the problem is George Bush and company. The Dem's have proposed a viable health plan for our kids.....the administration opted to veto it. He would rather pay for his interest (Iraq) than the American people.

If you want Health Care...if you want a stable government....if you want secure social security and if you want to be a proud American again........vote for democratically and kick the republicans out of office....lock stock and barrel.

It doesn't do any good to write letters....the votes that are needed to overcome Bush's veto are republicans and no matter how many letters and phone calls they get they will NOT go against party lines....that is their life blood. Save your energy and save your time.....but do vote the republicans out of office in 2008

The only way to ensure adequate health care for all Americans to to remove the 3d party profit, that is, eliminate insurance companies, with a single-payer system for everyone, which could be based on an expansion of Medicare.

The only politician who has a workable plan to benefit all Americans in this regard is Dennis Kucinich, but no one takes him seriously.

The problem is that insurance companies make a LOT of money from the present system and don't want to lose it all by having the government take over the health system. And they pay a lot of money in campaign contributions to ALL of congress to make sure things don't change in regards to their profits. Watch the Michael Moore movie Sicko, if you don't believe it.

My husband is a major patriot and one thing he has been trying to tech me and inform me about is that when we write to congress, our voice is calculated as 1,000 voices. If you were to go to your friends, family and neighbors (let's say 10 people or even 50) and ask them to write a brief letter to accompany yours, you could have a 10,000-50,000 people voice when submitting it to your governor. I thought that was amazing and pretty load for one person who really wants to make a difference.
