While they were together they went to get a car - her credit was crap so he put the car in his name. She is paying the payments but refuses to take the car out of his name. We are getting married and I don't like the idea of another woman affecting our credit - what can we do?

The car is in his name so it's his car as far as the title company and financing place are concerned, no matter who is making the payments. Tell her to either get it all put in her name or hand over the keys.

I know where ur coming from my husband has a house under his name that he left his X when they separated and she is always late on the payments . We have tried 2 talk 2 her about putting it under her name only but she is to bc going out it really sucks huh. I don't know how the car thing works but they told us 2 go 2 the bank and ask her 2 refinance under her name only on the loan & that would give her the responsibility. So just get informed of ways 2 do so the good thing is that she is paying the car if she keeps acting up I would tell ur hubby 2 let her almost pay it off and tell her if she wont change it ur takeing the car from her . I am sure she will move quick....

Unless she has the money to re-finance somewhere else or just pay it off, she can't take his name off the loan. The bank or finance company wouldn't let her. They are going to hold both names responsible for the loan. They would never release a name until they are paid off.

Not much you can do....they loan company wants to be assured that they are getting their money...just hope that she keeps up the payments.

tell her she has x amount of time to put the car in her name or confiscate it technically she has no rights to it.If she dont like that tell her to take you to court about.She will either **** or get off the pot.....
