I have to get rid of flying critters every summer, and here is what I do: Suspend clear plastic bags (1 or2) about half-full of water from the eave(s). You should make sure you don't use bags that leak or you'll need to replace them.
The easy way to hang them is to tie the with a stout string, just like a helium balloon.

Okay, never tried this myself, but have heard it works wonders...
Put 10 or so pennies in a plastic baggie, put in a little water and hang over your doorway outside. They won't come in your house anymore.
Exterminators are good too for interior infestations.

Get rid of whatever they're attracted to.
They will be attracted to plants that smell of poo - yes - there are actually a few of those!
Of course - they will also be attracted to any dead or decaying meat, any real poo (dog? cat?) or anything rotting that smells high!

Try fly paper, you can get a pack of them at the dollar store for a dollar, they work pretty good!

You won't like my answer--no one ever does. Let the spiders in. Especialy wolf spiders and jumping spiders. Wolf spiders are cool and can't bite you, same with jumpers.
