I find out in just over a week if I'm having a boy or a girl... So, I've been thinking about baby names A LOT lately. If it's a boy, he will be Oliver Steven (Oliver after my great-grandfather and Steven after my husband and his father).

If I have a girl, I think her name will be Paisley Rae (Rae because it's my grandfather and mother's middle name and the first part of my first name).

Yes, I know Paisley is a pattern and I know it's a city in Scotland. Also, Paisley IS a name, it was ranked 835 in 2006 on the SAA Popular Baby Names List.

I just want to know... What do you think of it???

And, our last name is Young if you want to know. So, it's a little hard to find something that DOESN'T go with that.

*** To skaizun. You're funny. It's just too bad I don't want to be trendy and name my kids Aiden and Emma. Or some common name and replace all the vowels with Y. There isn't a name in the world that a kid will have that they won't get made fun of.

I absolutely adore Paisley. Definitely one of my guilty pleasures. And for what it's worth, it has a long, rich history as a Scottish surname and given name. Anyone who honestly thinks you've named her for the pattern is just being silly. ;)

Normally I wouldn't care for the repetitive sounds in Paisley Rae, as a combo, so I'd probably have suggested Paisley Olive or Paisley Olivia in honor of your grandfather, but I do like that the name itself has meaning to you ... so your call. ;) And since I forgot to mention it, I love that you ARE using Oliver for the boy name. Especially since it's such a meaningful choice for you. A wonderful choice all around!

Paisley - Love it, lovely alternative to the ever popular name, Paige. The only problem I have with it is that it does sound a little bit like Parsley to me, and some people may become confused. Rae is nice, and I like the sentiment behind the name.

All though she doesnt like being called that. Ill tell her that there might be someone in the world almost named after you.

It's nice. Paisley isn't my favorite, but I think it goes well with Rae. And Oliver Steven is quite nice.

Oliver Steven is wonderful, but Paisley Rae sounds very trashy.

Paisley Rae is really southern, but nice. Love Oliver but not so much for Stephan.

I hope you have a boy, because I like the name Oliver. I do not like the name Paisley at all. You have to consider that this will be your child's name her entire life. I do like the middle name Rae and there are just so many names that go with that. Since the middle name and last name are one syllable, why not got for a first name that has 3 syllables---example Madison, Jacqueline....My parents said that they did that with my name "Cynthia"
I'd continue to look at the baby-names for girls.

I don't really like the name Paisley. But it's your daughter, if you love the name, that's all that matters.
At least it's not Kaelin, Jaylen, Braylee, Blakely, Emma, Grace, Sophia, Emily
LOVE Rae btw.
