buying, selling, growing, and possessing is illegal but is it illegal to ask someone if they sell or where to find it?

no. but there is conspiracy to break the law. interestingly, although it may only be a misdemeanor in your state to possess as much as you're looking for, conspiracy is a felony. oh yeah, and then there's that one they use against guys when they're trying to "clean up" a prostitution area. forget the specific term, something about promoting illegal activity. nothing is really legal in america anymore.

It would be Conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and is illegal.

In Michigan, if I roll up parsley and sell it, but say that it is pot, I will be charged with the same crime as if had I sold you a joint.

Prohibition didn't work in the 20's and still doesn't. Our government needs to get out of our personal choices.

This ain't America anymore, it is the former Soviet Republic with a little more opportunity.

Not if you have a prescription then you're referred to places that supply medicinal marijuana, otherwise you're asking for trouble. You are asking to get busted or ripped off unless you trust the people.

You could be charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, but because that is a serious charge, it is unlikely the prosecutor would bring charges just for asking.

probably. we are faced with so many ridiculous laws that shouldn't exist, that it would not surprise me at all if it were illegal to simply ask that.
