A bowl of plain white rice or some soda crackers.

(ginger is generally good for fighting infections and more and while I use a lot of it, in high doses it can actually irritate the stomach - similar to hot red peppers - they are generally healthy for the stomach lining but not when your stomach is upset)

don't eat anything spicy or very greasy. everything you eat the baby eats, so think about what your eating yourself and if it is a gassy food. They have infant Mylecon which worked very well for my babies. Also, drink some Camomile tea about half an hour before you breastfeed. This is a caffeine-free, naturally soothing and calming tea. It will help your baby sleep, and also make you feel a little better too :) it's delicious with honey added. Mainly just eat healthier, blander foods and watch what you're drinking too. If you're drinking caffeine that will add to his discomfort and also make him cranky because he won't be able to sleep when he's tired. Try turning on the dishwasher or dryer while you rock him too, or a fan. The noise is soothing to them because it reminds them of what they heard in your belly.

I actually prefer a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda, ( which is indeed a main ingredient of baking powder ) stirred in a glass of water. Don't overuse it because higher doses will work as
harmless but inconvenient laxatives.
I know baking powder works, but I don't want to use unnecessary chemicals in my body however harmless they are.
Hope your stomach stays calm and happy. Moon.

Saltine crackers and Seven-Up. Cola syrup also works well. Among herbal remedies the best is a tea made of Pennyroyal or other mints if that's unavailable, apple mint, horehound, bergamot, lemon balm, catnip or cat mint are all good, as are either or both of the chamomiles (relaxing, good in mixture).
