I hardly ever get a response from you on any of my questions. :( I think that you've possibly answered two of mine and guess what? You got BA for one of those. That's 50%, buddy!!!! :)
Have a GREAT weekend!

Well, I think it rubs both ways but it's just more obvious that the conservatives pick from their own because... well, because we aren't conservatives. I've worked hard (digging up sources, etc.) for questions just to check back and see that 'yup' got best answer. Now in that case, I think it would be safe to say it's a very narrow mind that only has room for a three-letter word. Fortunately, not all are like that.
The best chance seems to be with the moderates of both 'parties' because I suspect there's more common ground in the middle than many recognize or acknowledge. Unfortunately, party politics does not lend itself to the middle because it blurs the lines of 'us vs them', 'good vs bad', etc.

If you define "conservatives" as those who occupy the far right of the political spectrum, and "liberals" as those who occupy the far left, then both are narrow-minded.
Those of use in the middle of the spectrum, who evaluate each issue on its individual merits, would be the most open-minded.
Just about anyone on YA who uses either term in their question is guilty of making unfair generalizations.
As for how they rate you, I would have to guess that your answers sound left-leaning, and thus would be upsetting to the conservatives who withhold best answer points from you.

Many of the Conservatives I respect here are very open minded and smart. (Yes, there are some narrow-minded folks on both sides). I don't ask too many questions and I'm not sure if you've ever answered any of mine, but I do believe you gave me Best Answer once, so I owe you one. You are a reasonable debater who offers intelligent answers and although I usually disagree with you on fundamentals, I'd consider it. bookmark me.

I don't think it's the actual Conservatives. YA conservatives are a lot different than the general conservative population. My grandad is conservative yet he's open minded. Somebody might say that I say that because he's my grandad, but I've seen him do things for other people that are those here would consider to be socialist. I think that's true conservatism, putting people ahead of political views. And true liberalism. But it seems to be lost, and I greatly regret it.

there are a few who only want to give their best answer to their yes-men answerers... I can't argue there.
"Never" is a strong word though. Maybe there are just some who have given you best answer in the past who never mentioned which side they were for. Or maybe they just consider themselves conservative on a few issues, and not being the standard stereotype of a conservative.

Everyone has their own opinions, maybe that is narrow minded. If you are not a conservative, then you don't think like one, thus your answers would never do. Have you ever accepted a best answer from a conservative? Did they ever change your mind, or were you too narrow minded as well?

Get 'best answers' from both libs & cons the same way politicians get votes from them: spin.
Tell them what they want to hear, or, if you can't manage that, couch your answer in such a way that it sounds interesting, makes the reader feel good about his position. One good ploy is to start out by agreeing, then, later in the answer, start cutting up his possition.

I've been reported numerously by cons, just to express my opinion!! and amazingly YA carried it out!
Although, Ive come across harsh some times, but not on those occasions.
Just my simple response with no nasty words used of any kinds!!
It wasn't satisfactory!
Narrow minded?!! YA...

I am a conservative and I seem to remember that I awarded you the points some days ago. If I didn't ,I do remember that your answer was definitely being considered by me for the
top prize. or perhaps you haven't realised that I am a conservative?
I shall allow others to measure the width and breadth of my mind.
