my best friend of 12 years (im 16) always seems to be telling me that we are best friends, and supposed to tell each other everything... i just cant. i dont c how she can tell me so much things all the time. why do i like to keep to myself? and is it mean that i am?

You have a right to your privacy. You don't have to tell your best friend anything you don't want to tell her and she shouldn't expect you to tell her everything.

You are being careful and do not trust people. You should trust someone so when you need a friend you know whom to talk to. Don't be afraid, open up some and enjoy life while you can. Don't be like me and at sixty-five you have no friends or wife. It's lonely out here. Practice looking people in their eyes and talking to them. You don't have to give all you business away.

Maybe because you dont trust her all the way . I've had a Best friend since 4th grade I'm now in 10th and I dont completely trust her either so dont feel bad.

Maybe because you're older than her, you feel you're not comfotable with telling her EVERYTHING.
And maybe you're not as open as she is - not everyone is willing to share their feelings all the time.
If it bugs you what she thinks when you can't tell her everything, then tell her how you feel. If she really is your best friend she should understand and accept that you don't have to tell each other everything all of the time.

Look, some people are very introverted. It is just the way they are. They can't help it. It is just the way they function. I am very introverted. But anyways, sometimes it is hard to explain your feelings to people that are your friends. That is okay, it is juts the way you are, and if they have a problem with that then they should just get over it.

It's not mean, you just know you can trust yourself more than anyone in the world. Also being bestfriends does not mean that you have to tell them everything.

Nope, it's not mean, it's smart. If, for some reason, your friendship goes bad, she will have no ammunition. I believe that you are not able to open up to her because subconsciously, you know that there is something shady there. I would continue to do what you are doing and keep your dirt to yourself.

no gurl you aint mean some people just keep to theirselves.If you dont feel comfortable taking to someone then of course you aint going to tell them everything.Maybe they are some trust issues between you and her but good luck and take care
