I'm thinking of getting a tonsillectomy because I get the annoying tonsilloliths. But I love singing and I'm worried about it effecting that. Does any one know anything about this and whether it does effect you in that way at all??

I had mine out a couple of years in the past and im additionally a vocalist. They are simply slicing the again of your throat. They don't seem to be getting close your vocal folds or something like that. You don't have anything to fear approximately. And as for the opposite reply, its absolutely flawed. Your voice won't get "raspy" or something like that and your vocal chords wont need to get used not to having tonsils. They don't have anything to do with one one more. Its no longer going to have an effect on your voice by any means. Just desired to will let you realize :)

It shouldn't change the way you sing. You use your breath support and mouth mostly. If anything were to happen to your lungs or say your tongue or teeth, that would change things. I had an overbite and after I got braces I noticed a major improvement in pronunciation and tone.

It didn't effect mine either. PLUS I have not gotten tonsilitus, strep throat OR a sinus infection since I had them out 3 years ago. I used to get those kinds of infections ALL the time.
