I'm 17 and I'm getting my first car in a few weeks.
Its like a 2000 or 2001 Jeep Cherokee.
I don't know if I want it. I want a new car.
I guess I'm acting spoiled about it, but I know people my age who have really nice and expensive cars.
But I guess it doesn't even matter.
Do you think people will even care if my car isn't that great?
What do you think?
Here is what the car will kinda look like:

Its going to be a different color.

Hey whats up FABULOUS!

Personally I think that the Cherokee rocks! If I was in your position I would be overjoyed to be getting a Cherokee, especially one that is that new. The engine in that they put Cherokee, the 4.0L straight 6, is extremely reliable and long lasting. That engine will go to well over 200,000 miles if you take care of it. Plus the Cherokee is a good car for a beginner because it's higher off the ground so if, god forbid, you get in an accident, it won't be the end of the world. Another thing, a Jeep is way cooler than what most other people your age have - like civics and carollas, sunfires, cavaliers - you get the idea

Good luck!

If your options are to get the jeep or get nothing, then go for the jeep and be happy. If you have other options, I personally loved and still love my first car. I didn't actually take ownership of it until I was 19, but it's been really good to me.

I basically got an older (very reliable) "luxury" car. My friends all thought it was cool because of the features it had. I could drive people around because it was a 4-door and I had lots of fun modding it. Now after 2.5 years and 70000 miles, it's still running.

So if you want a balance between something cool and something practical, check out an older lexus or infiniti or acura. They'll save you a fortune on gas and will be safer than the jeep.

If you take the jeep, then enjoy it. Be greatful. And don't drive it too much so you don't go broke :)

The people who have really nice expensive cars at such a young age are spoiled brats who may or may not even deserve them. Really it shouldnt matter what your car looks like. The most important thing is that it gets you from point A to point B without breaking down and that it doesnt cost you an arm and a leg for insurance and gas! Soon you will be out of school and on your own and realize it really doesn't matter what you have to drive, as long as you arent stuck riding the bus or taking the shoe leather express (aka walking). So, with that in mind, as long as YOU like the vehicle you will be driving, it really doesnt matter what anyone else thinks about it :~)

I think a jeep would be a fine first car. Just check with your insurance company first to see how much your insurance will be on a vehicle like that. When you are young the insurance companies like to charge extra money for first time 4X4 drivers.

i wouldn't get a jeep. Too much of a gas guzzler.

since I already have an airplane, I really can't afford car.

I can barely fly my Cessna coze of the gas price in montreal, Qc canada.

If you live in an area where you get snow, while your friends in their expensive little cars are stuck, you will be cruising around. hen who has the better vehicle? It ain't the car that makes the person, it's the person that makes the car.

I believe your first car should always be a beater. It makes life more adventurous when you break down or have to use pliers to start it or always have to park on a hill so you can roll start (yep, that was my first car!)
